The Setting
(Players note)
This channel is set in the Underdark Realms where the Drow rule supreme. It's not a bright happy place and the Drow are not nice people to visit. They're cunning, dangerous and they rule this world for the most part. K'Hal is no different. The Matron built and rules her city with an iron fist. If you anger her, expect to feel her wrath. If you try to take aggressive action against her house or herself... expect nasty results. The Matron is not all powerful, and she has quite a few weaknesses that with attention and cunning you can use against her. Anyone entering K'hal is aware that she rules here, and is expected to treat her with a modicrum of respect.
The City is named K'Hal...which means "Place between light and dark". It's a fitting name given the history of it and it's true purpose as nuetral ground between the vast evil of the Underdark and the more good of the Surface world.
The surface world is approximately 5 miles above, a stone road leads to the first 4 miles of it and then ends. The last mile of the road splits into three branches, the middle to certain death at the hands of the Ithilliad, the right to death again at the hands of the Tunari, the left branch is the one that leads to the surface. The entrance to the Underdark road is through a set of great caverns on the surface in the face of a cliff. Runes are carved into the rock showing those who know them the way to the entrance. The runes are elven, some are in dwarven as various adventuring parties and merchants over the years have left hints of advice of things or places to avoid or simple directions.
The Haven is in the center of town, it's a large building made of black marble and natural grey slate. Rising to a colossal three stories in height it boasts over 40 rooms, 4 towers one of each that rested upon each corner, a giant common room, a library, a natural hotsprings and several secret passages. The Haven is in fact built like a fortress, designed to sustain both magical and physical attacks upon itself affording considerable protection to those denizens that can pay to stay there.
Common Room
(/join #Khal-Drow-Haven)
The common room is a comfortable and yet elegantly appointed area of the Haven. Large black marble doors open out into the dark cobble stoned streets of K'hal. The floor gleams softly with the generous waxings given it by slaves, the mellow wood smooth despite the hundreds of feet that have travelled it's surface.
The room is long and rectangular, one of it is dominated by a huge black marble and grey slate fireplace. A huge hearth shelf of the same black marble with glittering silver veins running through it provides a cozy seat. The center of the room has an assortment of soft padded chairs and beautifully carved tables. The rafters are high above, the faces of leering demons, dancing elves and other cavorting creatures carved lovingly into them by the hands of the slave artisans that built this place.
The far end of the room is occupied by the curved oakwood bar. Several padded stools sit in front of it, a few wine racks and the shelves of liqour directly behind it. Vintages of any kind of drink found oneither the surface world or below can be bought here for a price.
General Description
The center of the room has various tables in it, all appointed the same way as the alcove nooks with the plush seating and
such. The Haven offers rooms for rent at 3 Silvers a night, and meals for 1 Silver. Slaves are also offered depending on their availability (PC players) at 1 Gold Piece per evening and are all exclusive property of the Haven. Stealing them is impossible (Unless it's an SL you want to run then you need to speak to an OP).
Characters that are Welcome
Almost anything and everything. However we do ask that you follow a few simple guidelines.
No Gods or Demi-God pc's are allowed.
Slave characters, human or elven...please be aware that if you don't have a PC Master/Mistress and you enter the tavern, most likely you'll be collared to the tavern until your either sold or you'll simply be made available for the use of everyone. Slaves are welcomed and encourage I even have a slave char myself. :-) Speak to Ronia.
Bad Guys and Good Guys..bring it on..just remember that the Haven is nuetral ground, don't Godmode with your characters and try not to be to cliquish in your RP and your good to go.
Vampires....if your playing a vampire please stick to VTM disciplines and clans..any clan it doesn't matter. It's simply that Vamps are so broad based in ability, that VTM offers us some easy ways of defining the vamps abilities. No Antedilluvians.
AD&D Characters. Please do a little research so you acutally no what types of evil nastiness can acutally do such as Succubi, Betazu and ect. It's in any Monsters Compendium or Manual and if you hit a search engine your likely to find something.
